Dear parents,

Chess is a great game for developing logical thinking and strategy.

https://ficheall.ie/chess-lessons/ is a great website for all kinds of chess resources.

The link above divides up the movement of the pieces into bite-size chunks and games.

For example, to learn about the movement of pawns, play the Pawn Game. I have attached a lesson plan from the site. There are lots more available.

http://movesforlife.ie/our-mission/ also has great resources, and includes videos of the mini-games that help children learn the movement of the pieces.

https://www.sparkchess.com/ allows people to play online against a computer opponent.

Slán agus beannacht,

Mark Kelly, príomhoide
